Today I signed up for my first half marathon. The Weather Channel Half Marathon on Thanksgiving Day. There is a bit of an overwhelming feeling that comes with it. But, that just presents itself as a challenge – one to be conquered.
So, over the next few weeks/months, I will be posting my training schedule, fears, successes, and overall thoughts. Read if your interested, ignore if you’d like, or offer suggestions/advice from the ones you’ve done in the past.
If nothing else, posting will help me stay motivated and accountable.

Wait a minute…. You mean you encouraged me to try this thing and you haven’t even done it yet????? J/K – FEARS..I could write a book on my gears about this half marathon – the main one being that I won’t be able to finish or that. I will be the very LAST person to finish. But the longer I train the stronger I feel. I get encouraged by what to most would be tiny milestones – but to me they are HUGE! Just attempting this is a personal accomplishment. Regardless of each of our individual outcomes, it’s fun just trying!!!
Melissa-
I actually almost “X’d” out of the registration process and then was encouraged that you had already signed-up. I’m proud of you!
Yay Adam!! (And Melissa too!) You will be great I’m sure! If you have a good training plan and you stick to it, the race itself will just be a very fun, huge accomplishment! I say this having run two half marathons in the last year and a half…two halves is a whole right?? Also, I have to tell you that I’m hooked to training for things…now that I’m not training for anything, I find it hard to stay motivated to work out on a random Wednesday.
Good luck to you both!
Thanks Sarah! Any training schedules you recommend?
